Amy Bishop received her degree in Psychology and Child Development from Western Kentucky University and has worked with children with emotional and behavioral disabilities at Seven Counties and with children with developmental delays through First Steps. She was working at First Steps when God called her to ministry with Children full time. Amy has volunteered in children’s ministry since high school and has been paid to do children’s ministry for 11 years.
Amy is married to her high school sweetheart, Tim, and they have 3 beautiful children, Hannah, Hailey, and Hayden. When she is not driving them around their numerous activities, she enjoys reading and running.
Patty Smith is the Creative Champion and Innovation Catalyst at Ideasparks a consulting company that serves clients in the church and museum marketplace. She is the former Director of Learning and Innovation in the Tennessee Conference, working closely with the Episcopal Office and District Superintendents to increase the capacity of local churches to make disciples. Patty also serves on Group Publishing’s VBS team and is a contributing author to Children’s Ministry Magazine. Patty’s work at Group also included Program Developer and Senior Editor for the Training and Events Department, creating workshops for regional and national events.
Please bring children’s ministry materials (books, curriculum, other) you no longer use with a short, 2-3 sentence blurb about how you used them. This is a great opportunity to share resources for free and walk away with instant resources – complete with a peer review!
**Big Event Idea Swap
During lunch, we’ll have time to share with each other our big event ideas. You’ll come away with many fresh new ideas to reach out to the masses, impacting your church and community!
